When we Started Vertra Elemental Resistance in 2004, we vowed to do just that, to make a serious push and bring skincare awareness to the forefront of our market because until now, it has basically been a category that has been mostly taken for granted. Our Athletes that participate in the paddlesports industry are amongst the most prolific candidates to suffer from sunburn, skin damage, photo-aging and unfortunately in many cases, skin cancer. Gillian Gibree Joins Forces with Vertra: Elemental Resistance Sunscreen

San Diego, CA (February, 2 2010) Vertra: Elemental Resistance Sunscreen is proud to welcome Gillian Gibree to the paddlesports team. As a Massachusetts native, Gibree’s passion and success in the paddling world was cultivated form her experiences working as a lifeguard in Cape Cod. Prone Paddling, swimming, surfing and competing at lifeguard events shaped Gibree into the ocean force she is today. “I’m excited to be apart of the Vertra team,” commented Gibree “I have used the product for years when lifeguarding, surfing, SUPing, instructing, and anything else in the ocean!” Now living in San Diego, Gillian has decided to share her love for beach fitness and overall health through her company Paddle Into Fitness.

Gibree earned a B.S. in Sports Management and started her company Paddle Into Fitness. These classes offer lessons to beginner SUP paddlers, athletes and individuals interesting in SUP Yoga and SUP fitness in San Diego. www.paddleintofitness.com

As the 2011 SUP racing season gets underway, Gibree’s racing schedule will be filled as she tours across the country as well as internationally. Some event highlights to catch Gibree at this season will be the: Rainbow Sandals Battle of the Paddle, Molokai2Oahu World Championships, Teva Mountain Games-SUP Whitewater, and the Punta Sayulita Classic in Mexico.
